Amy Carafa Photography is a small home based photography business.  My home is my editing suite and the world is my photo studio.  I live in Havertown, Pennsylvania, and I have over 20 years of experience.  I love taking photos that tell your story, and reflect your personality. I capture those special moments and then take them through the editing process, making sure every detail is perfect.   I will use a combination of flash and natural light photography to make sure every photo has the lighting it needs to stand out.  I can capture some beautiful arranged shots, but I’m not just a “sit-and-smile” photographer.  Expect me to walk, talk, joke and to keep the shutter firing through all of it.  The best pictures are those that you don’t even realize I am taking! My goal is to find those candid moments when you reveal who you really are, so that when you look back at these photos, you’ll remember the sites, sounds and emotions of that day, not the camera that was capturing them.

My passion for photography started at the age of 16 when I took summer classes at The University of The Arts' photography program in Philadelphia.  I then went on to get a bachelors degree in Photography from the University of The Arts.  After College I still loved photography and did many small jobs for family and friends, but my love for kids drove me to get a Masters degree in Education, with a certification in Elementary, Art and Special Education.  When I'm not behind my camera I am teaching Art to Kindergarten!  I absolutely love sharing my passion for art with my little ones.  My knowledge, equipment collection and client base are constantly growing, as is my eye for capturing life's most precious moments in a photograph.

It has been amazing to be able to share my passion of photography with my clients and my family.  I love capturing the natural portraiture of babies, children and families.  My love for children and teaching sets me apart from other photographers as I already have a natural comfort level with the little ones.  Being able to create these special keepsakes for families is something that truly makes me happy.
